2011 Five-Star Festival

The 2011 Five-Star Festival will take place Thursday, September 8 – Saturday, September 10. We are excited to welcome back alumni from the Class of 1960 and earlier. The 55th (Class of 1956) and 60th (Class of 1951) reunion classes will have special celebrations within the Festival.

Registering for the Five-Star Festival is simple. Part one is the hotel, Part two is the Festival. Each of the large graphic link boxes below, other than the “Festival Online Registration” will allow you to access our Welcome Letter, Agenda, and Printable Registration Form.

Step 1 Thumbnail Check the Five-Star Agenda for the programs, receptions, etc. It is being mailed and emailed to you. To view or print the agenda now, please click the link below which will open in a new window. Simply close the agenda when you want to return to this page.

Step 2 Thumbnail If you want to attend the Festival, you will need to claim your hotel room from our block of rooms at the Hampton Inn Col Alto or the Comfort Inn. Call whichever hotel you choose at (540) 463-2223 for the Hampton, or (540) 463-7311 for the Comfort Inn. You’ll need the password which is “Five-Star Festival.”
Step 3 Thumbnail You also need to register and pay for the Festival. There is one flat fee of $125 per person for all events, transportation, food, and drink. You can register online. You will need either a Visa, Mastercard or American Express. If you need help, please contact (540) 458-8469. You can also register by mailing or faxing us the registration form that we sent to your address. If you have misplaced the registration form, and you want to mail it to us, you can get it via the link below.

Attire for the Weekend

  • Daytime attire is casual. Most people choose business casual attire for the evenings. If you prefer business attire, you won’t be alone!

What happens if it rains?

  • The University has a rain plan in place for all events.

What about transportation?

  • The University will be running a shuttle to and from the hotels to campus, and to the off campus tours.

Is there transportation between an airport and Lexington?

  • No.

What is the cut-off date for receiving a full refund if my plans change?

  • If you cancel your Five-Star registration before August 25, 2011, you will receive a full refund. After August 25, we can only issue a refund of 50 percent.
